Myrtis DuPlantis

Tet, 5, 26 M, Re Ev   (seedling X JT Davis)

Myrtis DuPlantis is a creamy yellow with a slight pink blush. It has a very bubbly gold edge that opens well every morning. Myrtis DuPlantis is a reliable rebloomer and is both pod and pollen fertile. Bud count is 18 – 20. I am naming my first introduction after a wonderful lady. Mrs. Myrtis DuPlantis   is the wife of     Region 13 s former RVP Elmer DuPlantis. I feel in love with her the first time I met her. She always has a smile and a kiss for those she meets. Nekkid Woman on a Tractor

5, 20, tet, Ev, EM, Re ( seedling x Larry Grace seedling)

Nekkid Woman on a Tractor is a beautiful clear pink with a heavy gold edge. As beautiful as it is most hybridizers would not introduce it because of the low bud count of 9 – 10.   I actually left her in the same place for two years and the bud count was better as well as the scape height.   This is a front row plant with the foliage never getting much taller than 12 inches. This one is named after a new daylily friend from Dallas, Texas. I can not wait to get her as a bus captain. She makes me laugh every time we e-mail. She has to be a hoot! Single fan price: $45

Better Lucky Than Good

(J. Goudeau 5-11-04)

5,32,Tet, Eve, M, Re (H. Mr. Lucky x Grace Seedling)

I have found in life, those who are lucky seem to surpase those with talent. Better Lucky Than Good is a beacon in the garden. When in bloom visitors will cross the garden to get a better view. Better Lucky Than Good is a well   shaped brilliant orange with a tomato red eyezone that stands well above the evergreen foliage. The most intruiging aspect of this flower is the deep red veining that extends from the eye out to the petal edges. This trait is passed on to the seedlings. It is very pollen and pod fertile. Better Lucky Than Good is a great performer increasing quickly and blooming throughout the summer months. $35 SF

5.25, 27, Semi, ML, Fr Re

Blackwater Lavender Delight is an interesting shade of lavender washed with mulberry jam, which seems to drip from the petal edges. A washed Halo of is evident around the bright yellow to green throat. A Honey gold trim tops off this appetizing flower. Four and five way branching with 15 perfectly spaced buds. I have set pods in late June and early July without the benefit of shade. $75 SF

5, 32,   Eve, ML, Fr, Re

(Grace Seedling LG41 x Tet Lavender Blue Baby) x Sdg

I have to thank Larry Grace for allowing me to purchase seedlings from his hybridizing program. This is from a Grace seedling I have assigned garden numbered LG41. Blackwater Washout has been a great parent for giving me washed eyes in my purple and red programs. Blackwater Washout is a violet purple with a washed eye and just a thread of gold on the edges. The yellow to green throat seems to jump out at you. The flowers are well placed on with four way branching and a respectable bud count of 20. $50 SF sold out

  Praise His Name (2005)

(J.Goudeau 4-13-2)

4, 24, Tet, Semi, M, Fr, Re,   (L.Grace Tet Ultimate Perfection sdg) x sdg

Song of Praise is a polychrome with a mixture of yellow orange and peach. The coloring changes with the heat of the day sometimes appearing more pink and other times more yellow. There is an ever so slight halo and edge of darker peach. The huge yellow to green throat extends out into the petal face. The white midribs complete the effect of this beautiful flower. Song of Praise is an easy pod parent setting pods on even the hotest of days. Bud count and branching are moderate. Sold out

Blackwater Snowflake

J. Goudeau sdg# 5-10-16-03

4.75, 26, Tet   Semi, ML   Slfr, Re

Blackwater Snowflake is another good parent for bagel style flowers. This perfectly round white diamond has just a touch of pink. The pink blush seems to fade as the temperatures rise leaving an almost pure white canvas in which to paint. The rebloom is very consistant and Blackwater Snowflake is fertile both ways.

Branching and bud count are moderate.                         SF $65.00

Daddy s Heart (2006)

(J. Goudeau 01-6-2-17))

3.25, 24, Semi, ML,   Re

I do not know if I will ever have a flower that deserves to be named for my daughter Ashley, but every time I see this one bloom, it makes me think of her. Daddy s Heart is another good garden performer that increases quickly and blooms and blooms and blooms. She is a soft yellow with a rose halo and slight rose edge. There is a slight gold trim that circles the entire petal edge.   I believe Daddy s Heart will perform better in climates where it will recieve some colder temperatures. Bud count is moderate. DF $30

  Coyote Ugly

J. Goudeau sdg# 02-05-11

5, 28, Eve, M, Re, Slf

On my first trip back from Larry Grace’s I was crossing flowers in the back seat of my truck. I just could not help myself. Coyote Ugly is a creamy yellow with a heavy gold edge. It is from one of two seedpods I set during that drive. If you are looking for a plant that is a good pod parent, this is it. I use this one to see if the converted plant material I use is Tetreploid or not. JT Davis is in the parentage of this flower twice. SF $65.00

(G. Goudeau 02-7-17-18)

(Carpenter, Unending Melody seedling x J. Goudeau Seedling.)

Tet, 28, 5, Eve, M, Re,

Ginger’s first introduction, Lavender Flirtation is from a seedling from Jack Carpenter’s great hybridizing program. Ginger returned home from Jack’s with a $100 seedling from Unending Melody. Her reasoning was, she has never met a lavender or purple she did not like.J Lavender Flirtation is a well-shaped lavender with an unusual violet purple eye and edge. A gold wire edge accents this flower. This has been a favorite pod and pollen parent of Ginger for the past three years. I have seen her set so many pods that the scape will wilt from the weight. 3 way branching 18-20 bud count. Sold Out for spring
